Bacchjera Winery was established in 2010 in order to upgrade a family-run business which has been valuable to us for generations. Buiding a small modern winery featuring professional winemaking and refinement equipment crucially allowed us to enhance our original production consisting only of bulk wine through conditioned and bottled wines. The company is named after our family nickname and we like to imagine that due to some random remote bonds it derives from the name of the Roman God of Wine. Our vineyards are located in a site named after a little country church dedicated to Saint Leonard and lie in the middle of the “Vermentino di Gallura” terroir which is is particulary suitable for viticulture. The farm currently cultivate a 4.5 ha grapes plantation including Vermentino ( approximately 2.0 ha) and red grape varieties both native (Caricagiola, Muristellu e Pascale di Cagliari) and international (Merlot, Cabernet sauvignon e Cabernet franc). Most of our wine is still sold unbottled. The first vintage years concerning bottled wines were 2014 for Vermentino Li Muri and Red Bacchjera and 2013 for Red Capidannu, aged in French and Hungurian oak barrels. These three wines were first presented to our customers in June 2015.
